Ponggal 2009 in KTT

Hello..it had been a long while since the last time I posted something on the blog..Had been staying in the hostel for almost a month now..Finally the exam is over and I got a week of mid semester holiday for Chinese New Year...Well..Yup...It had only been a while since the last time I had my final..It is kind of weird for the college to have a final sem and mid sem in a short period...hehe..Well..Whatever is it..I had been taking some picture of the events going on within the these 3 weeks..So I am going to tell you most of them through picture instead of words..

We had a ponggal celebration last week..A week before holiday...I had heard about ponggal festival before but i never participate it before...According to the MC, Ponggal is a celebration for Indians which is a Thanksgiving ceremony if I am not mistaken..To thank the god for giving them whatever the have now...It is much like harvest festival...Yup..That's the word for it..hehe..

Ok...stop talking and start viewing the blur-ish picture here as I took it for the 5th floor...

These are the pictures that I took...They are busy cooking using a pot..They cook the rice with milk..And when the moment the milk or should I said the mixture, spill out like the volcano, this indicate the end of the ceremony..i dun really understand the whole thing as clear as I did to the other celebrations...But i bet i will understand it soon as Datin told us that the student in India treat this celebration to be more important than deepavali..I bet i will be able to witness it again in India..

the picture where the students and a biology lecturer are dancing the traditional dance...They looks good and hot in Sari..i think I will try one myself in India...I heard that the Sari in India is cheaper...I will buy one myself if possible since I had try a lot of traditional clothes but not Sari..hehe..

The ceremony is a short one...It finishes within an hour...So I had nothing much to tell you about it as there are not much detail i obtained..hehe...see ya...
